National Association for Blind is an organisation committed towards prevention of preventable and cure of curable visual impairment. Socio-economic rehabilitation of the visually challenged in the mainstream, through education, training, and employment. They also take up advocacy against all types of individual and structural discrimination and ensure full legal capacity.
To assure accessibility to the world of information, we have established a fully equipped skill center with computers, high-speed WiFi, printers and other facilities. The JK Kapur Skill Centre enables the visually impared to learn and thereafter lead a life of dignity.
ASSOCIATION WITH SADHANA SCHOOL
SPJ Sadhana School is a specialist school, the only one of its kind in the country. It trains multiple handicapped mentally challenged to be productive members of society. Ever since its inception, 45 years ago, the School has worked ceaselessly towards helping the mentally challenged individual, not only to learn to adjust to the world around but also to become a useful member of the human community, independent and self-sufficient, with a contribution to make to society.
To build an inclusive working environment, we worked closely with the Sadhana School to develop and implement an internship and training program for specially abled children in various teams of K Hospitality Corp, across Travel Food Services, Copper Chimney, and other brands, in departments such as HR, Finance, Operations, and Culinary.
In August 2018, severe floods affected Kerala, due to unusually high rainfall during the monsoon season. It was the worst flood in Kerala in nearly a century. Over 483 people died, 140 missing. About a million people were evacuated from over 20 cities and 14 were placed on red alert. KCorp Charitable Foundation pulled in all its efforts to supply grain deliveries to those who had no access. Airport Authority of India supported us in executing the initiative along with Goonj an NGO who worked on the ground to help the citizens who were affected by the floods.
